Paris in the spring

The spring has started wet and cool here. Although the weather isn't spring-like, the produce in the markets screams spring. The main reason we come to Paris at this time of the year is to eat white asparagus. These beauties were displayed with a bulb of new garlic.

Still in Paris

I'm still in Paris but not venturing out of the apartment . I am trying to pull together all the bits of information I've collected for my next book and finalize the recipes so I can finish it this summer. So no  time for surfing the net or blogging.
To let you know I am alive and well I am sharing this photo of a beautiful bunch of peonies. Once I come up for air I will relate some of my French adventures. A bientôt.

Parisian Peonies

I arrived back in Toronto on Sunday to be welcomed by my husband and this wonderful bunch of peonies. Strangely, just before leaving Paris I was walking along the Rue Royale past one of the most amazing florists in that city, and in the window was a huge vase filled with probably 200 peonies exactly this same salmon pink colour. My husband had chosen well, Paris didn't feel quite so far away. To keep it close, I plan to post my list of things I love about Paris, this will cheer me up until I return in October.
